SOAP MAKING AND THE CONSPIRACY OF THE COMMERCIAL SCALE SOAPS
(1)What is the difference between handmade soap and the commercial scale made soap?
Commercial soap is usually mass produced and manufactured using synthetic detergents and
chemicals that can strip away the skin's natural protective oils. One of the most beneficial by-products of the soap making process is the production of glycerin, a humectant that draws
moisture to the skin. Large amounts of glycerin is removed in the commercial mass
production process and used to make other beauty products. Only a small quantity of glycerin
remains in commercially produced soaps. Commercially produced soaps are made with artificial
ingredients, chemicals and harsh-on-the-skin detergents.
Handmade Soap or Purpose Designed Soap however, completely incorporates and retains all
of this natural glycerin, a major benefit in handmade soap. Glycerin attracts moisture to your skin
and each bar of handmade soap you use is thereby providing your skin with more moisturizing
properties than commercial soap per se. Also, handmade soaps which are home-made and environmentally friendly are blended with nature's own pure vegetable oils and butters, pure
essential oils and organic botanicals. These ingredients are a far healthier and safer alternative
for cleansing and maintaining your precious skin.
(2)Why large scale commercial made soap sells cheaper?
1?Commercial soaps contain chemicals, more chemicals and nothing else but even more
chemicals.
2) Commercial soaps had already been removed of the beneficial glycerin from the products
and these invaluable ingredients are sold off to other cosmetic companies (they earn even
more from these sales already!). The cosmetics then produced are supposedly intended then
to repair the damage caused to your skin by these commercially produced soaps. This is most ironic!
3) Mass production and no uniqueness.
4) May usually use animal fat such as cow fat to produce soap. It is nothing wrong health-wise but these practises might certainly offend certain religious beliefs or outrage the animal lovers’
movements and most avowed vegetarians may not be able to accept it.
Meanwhile the huge advantages and benefits for handmade designer soap:
1?100% mixture of vegetarian oil.
2) Each piece of the soap is unique and is a work of art from the soap maker.
3) All ingredients used are natural and gentle to the skin which is in fact used by the cosmetic industry
to manufacture high-end cosmetics.
4) Certainly moisture your skin due to the glycerin from the soap.
5) Every piece of the soap is hand-made and crafted with the labor and effort which is full of Love by
the maker!
(3) What is the difference between cold process made soap and hot process made soap?
What is Cold Process (CP) Made Soap?
CP Soap is the abbreviation for Cold Process Made Soap.
This is soap that is handmade and produced, through the saponification process.
After it is processed, it takes about 3-4weeks for for the water to fully evaporate and complete the
saponification process before you use it.
What is Saponification?
“Saponification” – is an alkali compound or substance (usually sodium hydroxide - also called
caustic soda or lye) is added and reacts with the fats or oils to make / form soap.
Does CP Soap Contain Glycerin?
Yes! Glycerin is a clear, slightly sticky chemical which is a by-product of saponification therefore it exists naturally in CP Soap.
If CP Soap is made with lye, will it hurt my skin?
No! Soap is a result of a chemical reaction between lye, oil/fat and water. Now when these
elements have combined, you have soap!
What is Hot Process (HP) Made Soap?
HP is the abbreviation for Hot Process made soap.
It is called hot process because the saponification process is accelerated with heat the soap is
made similar to those soaps made through the cold process soap making ~ using oil/fat, lye
and water. The ingrediants are brought to trace. The soap is "cooked" in a crock pot or double boiler.
The hot process changes the appearance of the finished soap, but allows the soap to be fully
saponified and immediately ready for use within a few days.
HP made soap has generally a less dense and more rustic appearance and texture.
So CP or HP?
The choice to use one method over another is a personal choice. Neither method makes
one soap making method superior over the other.
